I searched the net and found out which wire was what, and now I have it working 100%.. Talked to a GM mechanic friend and he told me to check the wire harness under the pass. Seat for knicks or a cur wire from the pass seat being slid forward and back. Sounds crazy but low and behold I found a cut wire in that harness, spliced it and it fixed the compass/ temp readout in the rearview mirror..
When I bought an LKQ mirror w/o a harness, I picked up a random OnStar/Compass mirror that had it. It had no wires where the temp pins are, so I had to disassemble the harness and move 2 of the [useless] OnStar wires to the temp hole..
