I got the "FRH" wiring/relay kit (about $35 from The Fan Man). The kit includes a nice relay for triggering the fan from the 2-temp switch on your thermostat. As NickS describes in the original post in this thread, I'll wire the Spal to the lower temp side, and leave the auxillary fan. I connected the negative wire from the SPAL fan to one of the wires leading into the cooling fan switch. I then connected the second wire from the cooling fan switch to ground, and the wiring. I've got the PRC Dual Spal fan set up. I wired it up using the Spal dual harness setup. It was working great for a few months, but now both fan intermittently turn on and off. I checked all the wiring, grounds etc. A radiator fan requires an average of 15 amps to operate. The fan uses a relay in the fuse relay box under the hood. The relay has four terminals--one that is hot all the time, even with the key off. A second terminal becomes hot only when the key is on. This is the terminal that actuates the relay.
